Thursday Bird #7 – Plush Crested Jay, Iguazu Falls, Argentina
I spotted this bird during our 2018 trip to the amazing waterfalls. It seemed to be saying, “What are you looking at?”
Thursday Bird #6 – Fine Spotted Woodpecker
I noticed this bird on a patch of grass opposite the Colon Theatre in Buenos Aires. Despite the heavy traffic it seemed to be perfectly at home.
Thursday Bird – Mother Stork, Riquewihr, France
I took this shot during our 2014 tour of France, this being on the Alsace Wine Route leg. The father stork was off searching for food for the youngster whilst the mother waited patiently. Proud Mother Stork
Thursday Bird #4 – Flamingoes, The Camargue, France
We visited the bird sanctuary in the South of France on a baking hot day in 2014. The flamingoes were the undoubted stars of the show, putting on a fine display.
Thursday Bird #3 – Parakeet, Surrey, UK

Thursday Bird #3 – Eagle, Kenya
This is a photo taken by my late friend Andrew Healey when he was on safari in Africa.
Thursday Bird #2 – Bird of Prey, Zermatt, Switzerland.
Continuing my series of birds that I have seen onb my travels. I took this shot in June 2016 from my hotel balcony. I was actually looking at the majestic Matterhorn when this beauty caught my eye. I am not sure what is is – any ideas? Look out for the Matterhorn tomorrow.
The Thursday Bird – Fine Spotted Woodpecker, Buenos Aires
If I had more time on my hands I could see myself becoming a ‘twitcher’, the unofficial name for a birdwatcher. I love our feathered friends, so thought I would dedicate Thursdays to sharing a picture of birds that I have spotted on my travels. Sometimes birds pop up in the most unexpected of places. […]
Sunday Photos – Birds in Argentina, Uruguay & Brazil

We encountered many amazing sights and enjoyed some magnificent cultural experiences and along the way managed to view some amazing bird life too. I am not an accomplished wildlife photographer and I don’t have a clue half the […]
