The second match of the day sees two of the favourites locking horns in Munich.

Belgium

Antwerp is the diamond capital of Belgium. The diamond trade in the port started nearly 500 years ago when the first rough stones were brought over from India.

Gradually, local diamond traders rose to prominence with their attention to detail and exuberant selection until even the King of France, François I, started ordering his diamonds from the master cutters in Antwerp rather than in Paris.

It was many years ago that I visited and apart from loads of jewellers, I most remember visiting the castle complete with gruesome torture chamber with its array of horrific sounding and looking implements.

Italy

Milan gave me my perfect weekend back in 2015. Giselle at La Scala, The Last Supper at the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie and finally the Milan football derby at the San Siro.

Throw in a rooftop tour of the magnificent duomo and amazing cuisine and you get a weekend hard to beat.
