Monday Morning Blues – Frozen Lake Tjörnin, Reykjavik, Iceland

Six years and one day ago I celebrated my 50th birthday in Iceland.

Fabulous memories all round to banish those Monday Morning Blues.

In the centre of Reykjavik stands a lake that is frozen in winter, save for a small pocket that remains unfrozen and is haven for flocks of geese and other waterfowl.

Groups of kids play ice-football, whilst younger children are pulled along by their parents on sleds. It is a great spectacle and a lovely way to spend an hour or two on a very cold day.
