Sunday Photo – Skollfoss Geysir, Iceland

Six years ago today I celebrated my 50th birthday in Iceland.

It was a fabulous trip where we saw the magical land at its snowy best, even though we only had about five hours of daylight each day.

One of the many highlights were the volcanic springs that are known as geysers, with Skollfoss Geysir being the most active of all.

Every five minutes or so it explodes into action sending hot water and steam rising majestically into the air. A fabulous spectacle.
