You may know how much I love Prague. The Hrad (castle) area is not only great for exploring, but its lofty position provides fine views of the city below.
The iconic Charles Bridge and gold domed National Theatre are easy to pick out as is the River Vltava that winds its way through the beautiful city.

Split is my favourite destination that I have visited thus far.
The UNESCO listed old town is both historic & atmospheric. It also houses the vast Diocletian Palace that manages to dwarf everything around it yet be totally in harmony with the other buildings.
The waterfront area is especially lovely to sit and relax in whilst watching the boats & ferries going about their business. We had a very memorable refreshing dark beer after completing a 17km walk around the headland.
