Euro 2020 Match Day 4 – Spain v Sweden

The third game of the day takes place in Seville.

The Murillo Gardens in Seville

Seville just so happens to be my favourite city in Spain.

Superb tapas, the world’s finest flamenco, a magnificent cathedral, beautiful landscaped gardens of Los Jardines de Murillo, the wonderful alcazar and non-stop sunshine.

A float down the River Guadalquivir is a very enjoyable way to see the city. The Gold Tower and fine bullring are top sites near the river. Not that you would ever get me inside the latter.

If you think sunshine when you think of Spain, you are quite likely to think of snow when Sweden is mentioned.

In 2018 Mrs Wilbur and I took the train on the Iron Ore Line from Narvik and crossed the border into the winter sport resort of Abisko.

It was January and very cold, so we spent a few hours drinking soup and coffee in a comfortable hotel near the tiny train station.

Every now and again a weighty freight train laden with iron ore would thunder past like a black arrow piercing through the white landscape.

Score prediction – Spain 3 Sweden 0
