Tbilisi to Baku Train

The (Very Delayed) Tuesday Train – Baku in Azerbaijan

My last major pre-pandemic trip was in October 2019 when I took a train from the Georgian capital of Tbilisi to the Azerbaijani equivalent on the shores of the Caspian Sea. The overnight train started in the darkness in Tbilisi and saw us waking to the oil fields and industrial heartland of the former Soviet.

I visited Baku in 2019, just as this interesting building was nearing completion. Situated on the Caspian Sea, it is one of several unique buildings in the city which also includes the nearby Carpet Museum.
