So England’s men have made their second successive Euro final and first major final outside their home nation. They are up against serial winners in recent years Spain who won the Euros in 2008 & 2012, as well as the World Cup in 2010.
I am partisan of course and am dreaming of an English victory in Berlin, but am well aware just how well Spain have played in the tournament.
We probably have the two main contenders for Europe’s player of the year in England’s Bellingham and Spain’s Rodri. Whoever prevails here will surely win that coveted award too.
England
Being my home nation I don’t blog about my own backyard very much. When I consider what is great about England from a visitor’s perspective I think of London of course with its iconic landmarks and unrivalled theatre productions, I think of the amazing sport we offer in Premier League football and some of the world’s greatest sporting theatres – Twickenham, Wimbledon, Lords, Wembley, Silverstone, Royal Latham St Anne’s.

You have fantastic museums with free entry, wonderfully unique cities like Stratford-upon-Avon, Lincoln, York and so many more, beautiful countryside & dramatic coastline in the likes of Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset, Yorkshire, Cumbria & Northumberland, iconic bridges like those that span the River Tyne in Newcastle or the world’s oldest metal bridge in Ironbridge.

Fantastic cathedrals, amazing events like Chelsea Flower Show, pageantry, music festivals. I could go on and on. We have much to be proud of.

Spain
Spain is probably my favourite European country to visit. Here is a run down of my favourite cities.
