The former Yugoslav republic was the first to vote for independence, which after a 19-day war with Serbia was accepted in June 1991.
The small nation that borders Italy has many fine highlights but perhaps Lake Bled is its jewel.
We visited the site of General Tito’s summer lodge in 2019 staying for 2 nights after a train ride from Ljubljana.
It absolutely was beautiful. We took a boat out to Bled Island to visit its church and to take a short hike.
Denmark
Wonderful Copenhagen is best visited in Winter in my opinion. With snow on the ground it is extra wonderful.
It came up trumps when I visited with Mrs Wilbur. Nyhavn with its colourful boats and harbourside buildings was particularly lovely.
Lake Bled is stunning! Nyhavn looks also nice in the snow. I was also there in winter, but unfortunately no snow 🙂
