My first visit to the largest country in the former Yugoslavia came in 2006 when I took a train from Skopje to Nis.
There is not a lot to write home about when it comes to Nis, and on the trip it was most notable for a very late train we took to Sofia in freezing nighttime conditions with no lighting or heating.
England
Since we have a had dogs over the past fifteen years or so, we have travelled around England far more often.
Yorkshire is probably our favourite county. We loving renting cottages as we have done most recently in Wensleydale and Whitby.
The Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors are beautiful as is the stunning coastline.
In 2022 we took a steam train from Embsay to Bolton Abbey which is pictured below.
