Now we know all the quarter-finalists with Italy v Belgium the first one to be played Friday. Continuing my non-qualifiers with the Baltic States.
Latvia

Riga is one of my favourite cities in Europe. It has a lovely old town, a magnificent Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) District and a fine river (Daugava) with impressive bridges.
I have visited twice and loved it each time. I even took in a top-class ice hockey match.

I have also been to Tallinn twice and love the small city too. The last time was in January 2020 when we travelled there by train from Riga.
More compact than its Latvian neighbour, it too has a great old town and wonderful views from up by the Nevsky Cathedral. It also has a great cafe and restaurant vibe.

Lithuania

I have only visited Lithuania once, taking the train from Minsk. A very nice city though I only stayed a single day & night.
