I took this photo in 2010 at the monk alms procession. It always makes me smile.
Sunday Photos – Camels
Today’s photo collection features that ridiculous looking but truly amazing creature, the camel. Without the ship of the desert there would have been no Silk Route, no Samarkand and perhaps little or no amazing Islamic architecture throughout Central Asia. We have much to thank our hump backed friends for. Kraka the Camel, Krak des Chevaliers, […]

Sunday Photo – Never Forget
“On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the incessant boom of artillery abruptly went silent along the Western Front in France.” Today we remember the fallen heroes of all wars.
Sunday Photo – The Bangkok to Laos Train, Vientiane Outskirts (Thanaleng)
We travelled by overnight train from Bangkok in February 2010. The train goes over the First Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge to the outskirts of Laos capital Vientiane at a place called Thanaleng. From there it is a 20km tuk tuk ride into the city. Magic memories!
