Thursday Bird #9 – Cuban Trogon
The trogon is the national bird of Cuba on account of its plumage being the same colour as the Cuban flag. I spotted it in woods near Trinidad in 2017 and although the picture is pretty blurry, I was nethertheless pleased to capture it before it flew off.

I took this shot during my January 2017 visit to Cuba. I love the vivid colours. These ladies clearly dressed to impress and saw the blue doors as a perfect contrast to their pastel dresses.

Friday Photo – Three Generations, Old Havana, Cuba
I took this snap in the Old Havana District of Cuba’s capital. This is the real Havana where people live crammed into ancient buildings, many of which are in bad disrepair. The overwhelming impression however is that people are happy with their lot and just get on with living their lives as socially as possible.
