Housed in one of Hamburg’s iconic Hanseatic warehouses in its UNESCO Harbour City area, the miniature museum is a unique and hugely popular attraction.
Inside it exhibits several giant miniature train sets, authentically displaying sets from around the world in different eras.
It all begins with the USA, set in both the past (Gold Rush) and present.
Each set has incredible detail with each taking about a year to create by a team of master craftsmen, electricians & technicians.
Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Argentina & Brazil are amongst the others on show, with others in the pipeline.
Featuring the Landwasser Viaduct, Switzerland was my favourite. I refer to the Swiss train network as God’s train set, so blessed are they.
I am sure that one day Japan & China will feature. Not so confident about the UK despite us giving trains to the world some 200 years ago.
That’s impressive. There was a place like that, Roadside America, in Pennsylvania, USA, not far from me, but it shut down.
