Fortnum & Mason Christmas Windows

It would not be a complete festive season without the Fortnum & Mason specially decorated windows and external advent calendar.

As has become my tradition I travelled to Piccadilly to photograph the windows, which this year feature animals from over here and overseas.

This is what F&M themselves have to say about the display:

“Fortnum’s Christmas windows are renowned for spreading festive joy to everyone who views them,” says Sallie Smith, Head of Visual Presentation.

“This year, our displays are inspired by our beautiful selection of Christmas products, featuring our newly launched packaging. The designs showcase majestic animals and birds, lush foliage, decorative borders, and striking colour combinations. These elements come together to create our 2024 windows, highlighting just how extraordinary a Fortnum’s Christmas can be.”

See for yourself in the gallery below, or even better go yourself. Early morning is best to avoid the crowds, whilst at night the illuminations are wonderful.

For historians out there, here is an article from F&M’s Christmas archive and another piece written by anhistorianabouttown.

I saw one of your posts about going to St.Mary’s Basillica in Krakow for midnight Christmas Eve mass. Did you have to purchase tickets in advance? If so, where can I get the? If not, what time would I need to show up to get inside and get a seat? Please email me at k_j751@yahoo.com

    Thank you, Ken

Hi Ken. It’s free entry. If you want a good view/seat I’d get there by 11pm. There were some great concerts in churches too. You can see one on the blog.
