Further west up the Adriatic coast from Dubrovnik lies Split.
The lovely city sits on sparkling blue waters and features a labyrinth of narrow alleyways. Good luck finding your hotel!
The massive Diocletian Palace is also situated in Split, buried amongst the golden walls of the city.
Italy
Last year we spent two nights on Lake Garda courtesy of easyJet. The airline had cancelled our Milan flight and rather than spend extra time in the city we headed for the beautiful & breezy lake.
