France
France is my most visited country. A) I love it there and B) it is so easy to get to for me.
Our first post Covid foreign trip was to Nancy. Eurostar to Paris, a ten minute stroll to Gare du L’Est and another train.
Fully masked, a long immigration queue checking immunisation certificates, but oh so great to be travelling again after an 18-month gap.
Nancy is lovely too – fantastic squares and a spectacular hotel de ville especially.
Netherlands
On my first inter rail trip in 1987, Amsterdam Centraal was our first major train stop.
What a wonderful station building. Just be wary of the trams & bicycles whizzing around outside!
