The Statue at St Pancras Station in London

The 9-metre tall Meeting Place statue at St Pancras is a wonderful piece of art. Sculpted by renowned sculptor Paul Day and unveiled in 2007, the piece will have been seen by millions.

The attention to detail of the frieze is astonishing. The depth and feeling of each section deserves a long gaze.

Farewells

I always love to linger at the station when I am passing through and have stood at this spot many times. However, this time I was treated to a little bit more.

One of my favourite comedians, Johnny Vegas, was being filmed in discussion with none other than Paul Day himself. Apparently it will be shown on Channel 4 this Autumn as part of a feature in which Johnny will be creating his own piece of public art to be sited in his home town of St Helens.
