Monday Morning Blues – The Corinth Canal in Greece

Ever since I first heard about the Corinth Canal as a kid I wanted to see it.

The canal connects the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea and cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland.

The 4 mile long route is however barely used nowadays as it is too narrow to allow passage to modern-sized vessels.
