It features train travel in Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Northern Greece, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia and European Turkey.
The Balkan Peninsula conjures up images of conflict and division, unsurprising for a region riven with wars, occupations and land grabs over many centuries.
Most recently we had the horrendous 1990s Yugoslav Wars and it would be true to say that there are a multitude of grievances still harboured by every Balkan nation.
All of this is buried well below the surface, for now anyway, and I have found my travels there fascinating and highly rewarding.
