Before Hong Kong built a new airport on Lamma Island aeroplanes used to land on a landing strip on crowded Hong Kong Island.
The flight path took the planes low over Kowloon where this shot was taken.

I still remember landing on the old Kai Tak from the ocean’s side, sadly not over the buildings, on SAA’s flight from Johannesburg via Mauritius. In was 1984 and I was 5 years old!
