It’s been a while since I posted. A combination of losing my iPad (a cunning plan to get a better new one according to Mrs Wilbur!) and a busy Summer watching open air concerts in the sunshine (and one horrendous storm in Hyde Park watching Michael Buble, my wife’s Christmas present before you decry me – seriously I do like his voice!), together with watching more football than is good for you during the World Cup (begrudging congrats to France, felicitations to Croatia on a massive achievement).

So what have I been up to travel wise since I last posted properly?
In June it was a trip on Eurostar to the Provençal capital of Marseille, together with a side trip to Aix-en-Provence for a few hours. We flew back home despite French air traffic controllers attempts to prolong our stay by striking.

Luckily for me my recent work projects have taken me to Warsaw and Lisbon three times each. I have managed to tack on side trips to Krakow (already posted) & Sintra (post to come), as well as sampling plenty of Polish beer and Portuguese pastel de nata (custard tarts) – exercise regime pending!

I also did a train trip back to my roots in Devon to see my Dad as an unannounced surprise to also take in the England v Sweden World Cup match. I love the Waterloo to Exeter line, so many brilliant memories from my youth.
As usual I have also been planning future trips and will be heading up to Edinburgh on the overnight sleeper next month to take in a little of the Fringe. Very excited about that!
So exciting that I am almost counting the days, I will be off to Turkmenistan & Uzbekistan with Hamish in September. This has taken a fair bit of planning but touching wood all will go smoothly.
I have some more in the pipeline, but will leave that for another day.
Enjoy the rest of the Summer and see you again really soon.
Wilbur.
