Following up from my Manchester post yesterday, City have drawn Dynamo Kiev in the first knock-out round.
I was in Kiev in 2011 as part of a train trip that took in Budapest, Bucharest, Moldova, Crimea and Ukraine – you know where you can read all about it! (On The Beaten Track).
The Champions League trophy just so happened to be exhibited whilst I was there and never one to miss a photo opportunity, I paid a visit.
Just getting the Thomas Cook timetable out now1
Update – found out the game has to be played behind closed doors to punish Kiev fans for racist behaviour. Unfortunately this punishes me as it scuppers my plans. Let’s hope we get through so I can go to the next round.
