Ta Prohm

Before I finally succumbed to the dreaded lurgy, I managed to see half of what has become known as the ‘Tomb Raider Temple’.

This is the one that became completely swallowed by nature and has been left part entwined with the jungle, as much for preservation as aesthetics. To remove the trees would cause parts of the structure to collapse.

The ethereal look created, made it the place perfect for the Lara Croft blockbuster starring Angleina Jolie to be filmed. She cavorted around the temple avoiding attackers whilst wearing very little before returning to Hollywood via an underground secret passage! I do not suppose this was what the Khmers had in mind exactly!

There are some well-known bits that I did not see. Another time perhaps?
